Events

Our meetings are every week at 9PM in the Baldwin Main Lounge. Anyone is welcome!

SEPTEMBER

  • Debate Watch: There will 3 Republican Debates this month. The College Dems hope to plan an event around each of these.
  • Speakers: We hope to get a number of speaker on campus during September, both in a formal setting and during our meetings. The first of these will most likely be Timothy P. Dougherty, Mayor of Morristown.
  • Canvassing: We will be working with a number of campaigns in the coming months to discuss current issues with local voters.

Down The Road: For all those events that are still in their planning phases.

  • Codey v. Eames Debate: The Drew University Democrats hope to have Richard Codey (D), current NJ State Senator for the 27th District, debate his opponent William Eames (R) on campus.
  • Trip to DC:  Hopefully next year (2011-2012), the college democrats will travel down to Washington DC.  Because it will be the beginning of an election year, it is very possible that we could attend a political rally, or possibly see Obama deliver a speech.
  • 2012 election cycle:  As with every election cycle, the Drew University College Democrats, will be gearing up again to register new voters and encourage students to get to the polls. In the past we have done canvassing for Democratic candidates and held Rock the Vote events.
