GSA Steering Committee Meeting Minutes – 11/17/03

Attendance: Jim Rovira, Madera Edwards, Michael Humphries, Chris Anderson, Ed Lovely, Kathy Henn, Asa Nausner, Lisa Nocks, Dawn Digrius, Michael Adams, David Wright, Kevin Houk

Call to Order: 6:35 pm

New Business: Asa Nausner suggested each area select three days per semester to create the opportunity for teaching seminars during area colloquia. Jim Rovira presented information from Christopher Rodkey concerning a Teaching Task Force. Christopher is looking for 3-5 graduate students interested in planning seminars. Elizabeth Pullen will attend the American Academy of Religion’s session on teaching. Jim Rovira said he would attend the general Drew University planning committee scheduled for February 2004.

Reading of the Minutes: (minutes distributed and accepted) at 6:50 pm

Discussion commenced regarding GSA funding. The Halloween party costs are paid and the GSA meeting food is covered.  A Co-sponsorship form is available online at the GSA website for groups interested in receiving money for events.
