          Graduate School Events--

Kevin Huvane, Co-Convener of English Department has arranged for a 'social' on Wednesday, Dec 14, 2005 from 4-7 P.M. at Thompson Commons.  This would be a social occasion for Graduate Students in English Department with discussions on different experiences/concerns/questions. President Weisbuch and Professor Occhiogrosso would be attending the meeting.

The Religion and Society, Theology and Philosophy areas invite you to hear Carl Brakenhielm on "Religion of Nature and the Nature of religion"-- Wednesday, Nov 16th 2005. Time 12:15- 1:15 pm, Venue- Seminary Hall, 109. Dr. Brakenhielm is the Chairman of the Theological Commission of the Church of Sweden (since 2003), the President of the International Society of Literature, Religion and Culture, and the former Dean of Faculty of Theology at the University of Uppsala (1995-2000).  He is the editor of Uppsala Studies in Faiths and Ideologies, the editor of Working Papers in Theology, as well as responsible for a research project on Worldviews, Ethnicity and Ideas of Nature (supported by the Bank of Sweden Tercentenary Foundation) 1998-2000, and participant (with professor Mikael Stenmark) of a research project on Biology and Worldviews (from the Bank of Sweden Tercentenary Foundation) 2003.

Biblical Studies Colloquia was held on Tuesday, Nov 1st 2005, 12- 1pm at Seminary Hall, Room 116.

American Conference of Irish Studies was held on Friday, Nov 11th at Drew University. Several graduate students presented papers and panels at the conference. For more information on the conference and presented papers, please check the "Drew on Map" section of this issue.
