ABOUT US

On a Different Note was started in the spring of 1992 by Drew students Jen Howes and Jessica Brandt. One day in Chorale, Jessica asked Jen if she wanted to help start an all women's a cappella group, and that started what is now a fourteen year tradition. That fall, the ladies asked Professors Garyth Nair and Laura Greenwald of the Music Department to help them hold the first OADN auditions, and out of the 30+ people who showed up, 6 were chosen to join Jen and Jessica: Karen Waltz, Shannon Olin, Marisa Maziarz, Kate Minogue, Courtney Kramer, and Terry Ruiz--the original OADN.

Since 1992, On a Different Note has grown and changed and today, we consist of 14 members and perform all over Drew's campus, as well as at various off-campus locations. Our style is as varied as ever, including in our repertoire pop, soul, folk music, standards, rock and much more. In the tradition of the founding members, OADN's primary goals are to make great music and have a lot of fun doing it!
