Second Annual Samhain Masquerade
November 1, 2006

Our second Samhain Masquerade was a lot of fun, including a costume contest and other traditions from the previous year. The music featured Pagan and Samhain-related themes, including those of willing sacrifice, death, and the promise of rebirth. Crafts included pom-pom spiders and the witch's ladder, a traditional craft that can act as a charm for many things depending on the colors of the materials used and, of course, the maker's intent. Guests were also invited to decorate cookies and enjoy traditional Samhain foods such as meat, apple cidar, and pumpkin pie. Free henna tattoos were available to all interested. A Powerpoint presentation displayed information about the Sabbat for anyone interested in learning more. Following an old tradition, food was set out in honor of any spirits who had come to visit on this magical night.

It is set as an offering for our unseen guests."
